Our Allied Health Assistance (AHA) team in Canberra can provide supports across a number of disciplines including Occupational Therapy, Play Therapy, Physiotherapy, Equine Assisted Therapy and Group Programs.  The supports offered by AHA’s vary greatly, from provided hands on support to the therapists, creating visuals / resources for clients, to delivering individualised client AHA programs.

For AHA programs, the therapist for the relevant discipline provides an assessment for your child, then where appropriate, they create a program which an AHA delivers.  The AHA programs target specific goals for your child, for example fine and gross motor skills.  With sessions provided in clinic, schools or at home, the therapists oversee the ongoing program delivery and collaborate closely with the AHA’s.

Before you enquire about our Allied Health Assistance Services, please note that in order to access these supports a therapist will need to complete an assessment followed by creating an AHA program (both chargeable activities).  There may also be a therapist charge for additional work such as school observations to update an AHA program.
