Funding
House on the Hill Paediatric Therapy Services in Canberra provide services to clients with a variety of funding options.
As an NDIS Registered Provider we’re able to support clients with all types of NDIS fund management. For us to receive payment through the NDIS, a client must already have a plan in place with the appropriate and sufficient fund allocation to cover the services we’re going to provide. An explanation of each funding type can be found below and more information can be found on the NDIS website.
For the payment approaches we’re able to support read on…
Self-managed
The self-management option can allow NDIS participants choice and flexibility in which supports they purchase with NDIS funding. This means they can pursue their NDIS Plan goals creatively in a way which gives them control over arranging and paying for services. The participant will receive invoices from providers for supports delivered and it’s their responsibility to arrange payment.
Plan management
Plan managers are providers that support NDIS participants to manage their NDIS Plan funds. They are able to arrange payment for services on behalf of the participant directly with the provider of supports. They may be able to upskill participants in a number of areas including learning to self-manage their plan. Invoices from providers for supports delivered are sent to the plan managers, who arrange payment, but copies can be sent to the participant too.
NDIA-managed
This funding option is only available with NDIS registered providers and is sometimes known as Agency-managed. The provider claims payments for supports directly through the NDIS electronic portal called ‘myplace’. ‘myplace’ also allows the participant visibility of providers payment claims, but doesn’t require them to be involved in the process. Invoices for supports delivered by providers can still be issued on request.
Medicare
House on the Hill Paediatric Therapy Services are registered with Medicare. To access Medicare rebates for the supports we deliver, clients need to have a GP Referral in place prior to the first therapy session. The Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program referral for Allied Health Services is part of the clients’ Chronic Disease Manage Plan and includes conditions such Austism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Global Development Delay (GDD). Referrals of this type allow clients to claim a partial rebate for up to 5 therapy sessions per calendar year (from the date of referral). Clients need pay the providers invoices out of pocket before claiming rebate through Medicare. More information can be found on the Department of Health website.
Private Health Insurance
Private health funds can cover the costs of therapy services. Clients will need to contact their insurance provider before their first appointment to confirm if cover for our services is included in their policy. Insurance providers may request the client pay our invoices out of pocket before claiming back with them. In this case they often ask for specific details (such as HICAPS item codes) to be included on our invoices. Clients need to inform us prior to their first therapy session if they require this information to be included on invoices. Some insurance providers have case managers who deal directly with us regarding payments, if so clients should provide their contact details prior to their first therapy session.
Out of Pocket
Even if you’re not NDIS funded and you’re unable to claim back the supports we provide through Medicare or your Health Insurance, you’re still able to access our services. In situations where fees are an issue we can create therapy plans which allow your budget to go further by using the range of discplines across our team.
