Welcome to the NEST! This is a service designed specifically for babies that are Neonates or Ex-Neonates (0 – 2 years of age) and their families. Our Occupational Therapists focus on the wellbeing and optimal development of baby, whilst supporting their family to participate in their valued occupations.
Our Neonatal / Ex-Neonatal Occupational Therapy services include:
- Baby massage – instruction / demonstration.
- Body work – hands-on touch to aid body needs.
- Positioning – placing infants on fronts, backs and sides (with and without positioning supports).
- Sensory play – cuddling, listening to music, reading stories.
- Tummy time – develop baby’s sensory, visual and motor skills with these exercises.
- Gross and fine motor development – improve baby’s muscle coordination skills from their fingers to whole body movements.
- Parent support – developing parent’s toolkits, so they have the knowledge and skills to support baby and the whole family.
- NDIS application support for infants 0 – 2 years of age.

| Intervention sessions are 60 minutes – 45 minutes Face-to-Face and up to 15 minutes of Non-Face-to-Face supports for session preparation and progress notes (plus other permissible activities under the NDIS Price Guide). | ||

Non-Face-to-Face Supports are important activities resulting from the delivery of specific disability support items. These activities must be permitted by the NDIS Price Guide and be pre-authorised for us to claim in your Service Agreement. Examples of Non-Face-to-Face Supports we will claim for include, but are not limited to:

Some common activities we complete but do not claim for include time spent scheduling, creating Service Agreements and Service Bookings.
